Looks like Dorothy Moon is back to her old tricks, running up more expenses than she’s bringing in. But wait—there’s more to unpack:
Dues, Not Donations:
A whopping $62,916.32 of that income comes from annual dues Dorothy stole (sorry, collected) from state central committees.
Remember, these dues are annual—meaning Dorothy doesn’t get another bite at the apple until next year. So unless some generous donors suddenly appear, the party’s financial future is looking shaky.
Sparse Outside Donations:
Outside of those dues, Dorothy and her crew managed to scrape together a mere $25,743.14 in donations. For a party that claims to have a strong grassroots base, those numbers aren’t exactly impressive.
Spending Spree:
Dorothy has already blown through $104,026.06, outpacing their income by more than $15,000. We can’t help but wonder: how does she plan to keep up this spending spree with so few outside contributions?
With spending habits like these, Dorothy’s starting to look less like a fiscally responsible Republican and more like a tax-and-spend Democrat—except she’s burning through your dues instead of tax dollars!
Legal Fees: Still Missing in Action
Despite the court ruling that the Idaho GOP is responsible for their own legal fees, the party still isn’t reporting any payments to Bryan Smith. Remember, Bryan made sure everyone knew his 250+ hours of legal work weren’t pro bono, but now it seems he’s decided not to collect from his cash-strapped besties. Maybe he figured they’re already broke, or maybe this was all part of the scheme from the start. Either way, it’s another mystery for the Party Watch files.
But here’s something interesting: the IDGOP is reporting legal fees paid to Runft, Dindinger, Kohler, PLLC, a different law firm. What legal advice did they need this time? We’d love to know.

Hey Party Watchers,
It’s that time again—let’s dive into the latest numbers from the Idaho GOP’s recent FEC filing! For those keeping track, FEC reports are filed quarterly (unlike the monthly Sunshine Reports with the Idaho SOS), and the first quarter covers an odd time frame: February 1 through April 30. But don’t worry—we went the extra mile and pulled data from January 1 through April 30, 2025, to give you the full pictu

The Numbers: What Dorothy and Comrades Are Up To
Here’s what the Idaho GOP has reported so far:
Total Income: $88,659.46
Total Spending: $104,026.06
2025 Totals (YTD): $-15,366.60

Travel Expenses: Dorothy’s Favorite Category
Dorothy Moon continues to live her best life on the party’s dime. Nearly 1/5 of the party’s total expenditures were reported as “travel.” That’s a lot of miles and hotel stays!
Here’s the thing: Dorothy’s been pretty quiet about what exactly these travel expenses entail. When will she finally break open the books and show us the receipts for her Bank of Idaho Visa or her mileage logs? Transparency, anyone?
What’s Next?
With their annual dues already collected and outside donations looking slim, the Idaho GOP’s financial future isn’t exactly bright. Meanwhile, Dorothy keeps spending like there’s no tomorrow, Bryan Smith isn’t collecting his legal fees (yet), and the party is quietly paying for legal advice from other firms.
So, Party Watchers, we’ll keep asking the questions they don’t want to answer:
Where is the money really going?
What are those “travel” expenses paying for?
Why isn’t Bryan Smith collecting his fees—or reporting them?
And what exactly did Runft, Dindinger, Kohler, PLLC get paid for?
Stay tuned as we keep digging into the numbers and holding the Idaho GOP accountable. In the meantime, enjoy watching Dorothy and crew try to spin this mess into something resembling success.
Until next time,
